Stable, Quiet, and Reliable Casters for Server Racks and Network Cabinets

Hero Section

Engineered for the Demands of Data Centers

Server cabinets and network racks require mobility solutions that go far beyond standard casters. From high center-of-gravity stability to strict noise and vibration control, every detail matters. With over 30 years of caster manufacturing experience, TENG® delivers custom-engineered mobility solutions that meet the most rigorous testing standards in the industry.

The Challenges in Data Center Cabinet Mobility

Data center equipment manufacturers face unique challenges when selecting casters for server racks, network cabinets, and power distribution units:

Challenge

Impact

High center of gravity

Tall, loaded cabinets are prone to tipping during movement

Noise and vibration

Rolling noise and vibration can disturb sensitive equipment

Static electricity

Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components

Frequent locking/unlocking

Brake reliability is critical for safe positioning

Floor protection

Heavy cabinets must not damage raised access floors

Long-term creep

Static loads at elevated temperatures can deform wheels over time

Impact resistance

Cabinets must withstand accidental impacts during installation

Standard casters are not designed for these conditions. Data center cabinet mobility requires a purpose-built solution.

Our Approach: Custom-Engineered Mobility Solutions

We don't sell off-the-shelf casters. We engineer solutions.

Approach

What It Means

Application-specific design

Every caster is engineered for the specific load, height, and environment of the cabinet

Custom materials

We select and develop specialized compounds for low creep, high impact resistance, and ESD safety

Purpose-built testing

We design and build custom testing equipment to validate performance under real-world conditions

Full traceability

From raw material to finished product, every component is traceable and verifiable

Testing Capabilities: Meeting Global Standards

Data center cabinet casters must perform under extreme conditions - and different markets have different standards. We have the capability to test and validate our casters against multiple international and regional standards, ensuring compliance wherever your equipment is deployed.

Compliance with Global Industry Standards

We can test and certify our casters to meet the requirements of:

We can adapt to your company's internal testing protocols

Whether your equipment is destined for North America, Europe, Asia, or other regions, we can validate performance against the relevant standard - or work with you to define a custom testing protocol.

Specialized Testing for Data Center Conditions

Beyond standard compliance, we perform a range of specialized tests to validate caster performance under real-world data center conditions. All tests can be customized to meet your specific requirements.

Test

What We Test

Our Capability

Salt Spray Test

Corrosion resistance of surface finishes

72-hour standard; extended or customized surface treatments available

Creep Test

Dimensional stability under sustained load at elevated temperatures

Up to 1.7 tons; equipment adjustable for higher loads

Static Test

Structural integrity under static load

Hydraulic press up to tons

Impact Test

Resistance to accidental impacts during installation and relocation

Ton-level impact force

Dynamic Test

Load-bearing and durability under dynamic rolling conditions

Programmable speed, load, obstacle count, and cycle timing (e.g., a typical test might simulate loaded movement at a set speed with repeated obstacles and defined run/rest cycles)

Rollability Test

Force required to push/pull the caster on inclines

Measured in Newtons or kgf; customized to slope angle and floor type

Rolling Movement Test

Real-world rolling performance across different floor conditions

Includes ramp pushing, obstacle crossing, floor joint crossing, step-down, and concrete floor testing

In-House Testing Equipment

To meet these demanding requirements, we have designed and built custom testing equipment - including a dedicated high-temperature creep testing machine, a hydraulic static load press, and a programmable dynamic testing rig. This enables us to validate caster performance under conditions that standard testing equipment cannot replicate.

This capability is rare in the caster industry. It means we can prove performance before our customers commit.

Custom Material Development

Standard caster materials are not enough for data center environments. We develop and source specialized materials designed to meet specific performance criteria:

Material Requirement

Why It Matters

Low creep resistance

Prevents wheel deformation under long-term static loads at elevated temperatures

High impact strength

Withstands accidental impacts during cabinet installation and relocation

ESD safety

Prevents electrostatic discharge that can damage sensitive electronics

Low rolling resistance

Reduces effort required to move heavy cabinets

Noise and vibration dampening

Protects sensitive equipment and maintains a quiet data center environment

Floor protection

Non-marking, non-damaging to raised access floors

We work with material suppliers and our in-house engineering team to develop compounds that meet these requirements - and we test them to verify performance.

Traceability and Reliability

For data center equipment manufacturers, traceability is not optional - it is a requirement. We manage reliability and traceability through a fully integrated digital system - not paper-based records.

Our operations are built on ERP + MES (Manufacturing Execution System) + APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) , connected through a QR-code-based smart IoT management system. Every caster, component, and production batch is tracked in real time across the entire manufacturing process.

Traceability Element

How We Ensure It

Raw material traceability

Every batch of raw material is documented and linked to its supplier and incoming inspection records

Production process tracking

Each production run is recorded in MES with machine parameters, operator

Component traceability

Every molded, stamped, and assembled component is linked to its production batch via QR code

Quality documentation

Inspection results, test data, and material certificates are archived in the system and retrievable by batch number

Finished product traceability

Every finished caster can be traced back through its entire production history - from raw material to final inspection

This digital infrastructure covers production processes, daily output, piece-rate records, equipment management, mold management, order management, warehouse management, financial management, procurement, and BOM development - all within one integrated system.

The result: when you receive a Xingteng caster, you can trust it - and prove it. Every batch is documented, every component is traceable, and every quality checkpoint is verifiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why are nylon wheels commonly used for data center cabinet casters?

A: Data center cabinets are typically heavy and remain stationary for extended periods - sometimes under load at elevated temperatures. Under these conditions, wheel materials can gradually deform, a phenomenon known as creep. Nylon (PA) wheels offer superior dimensional stability under sustained load, high load capacity, and excellent resistance to creep deformation, making them ideal for heavy, long-stationary cabinets. For lighter cabinets or applications requiring quieter rolling and maximum floor protection, PU or TPR wheels may be more suitable.

Q2: What is high-temperature creep testing and why does it matter?

A: Creep is the slow deformation of a material under sustained load. In data centers, cabinets may remain stationary under load for extended periods - sometimes at elevated temperatures. High-temperature static creep testing verifies that our wheels maintain their dimensional stability and load-bearing performance over time, preventing deformation that could affect cabinet stability or mobility. We have designed and built a dedicated high-temperature creep testing machine to validate performance under these demanding conditions.

Q3: What testing standards and capabilities do your data center casters meet?

A: We can test and validate our casters against multiple international and regional standards, including ANSI/ICWM (USA), EN (Europe), GB (China), and ISO (International) - as well as customer-specific internal standards. Our specialized testing capabilities include salt spray, creep, static, impact, dynamic, rollability, and rolling movement tests. All tests can be customized to meet your specific requirements.

Q4: Can you provide anti-static or conductive casters for data centers?

A: Yes. We offer anti-static, static dissipative, and conductive caster options for data center environments where electrostatic discharge is a concern. Our sales team can recommend the appropriate material and configuration based on your specific ESD requirements.
